# Token purpose

$REVV is the central utility and governance token for the Motorverse ecosystem. 

Holders can use $REVV to:

1. **Unlock access to the REVV LAUNCHPOOL:** The Motorverse is constantly onboarding new partners and collaborators. Holders can stake their $REVV to gain exclusive access to items, tokens, and unique experiences. 
2. **Purchase Motorverse assets/experiences:** $REVV is the main currency across all games within the Motorverse ecosystem. It continues to be used as a means to purchase, and create NFTs, and to access gameplay and experiences across multiple game titles. In the future, players in the Motorverse ecosystem will be able to use $REVV to pay for goods (cars, parts, tracks, etc.) and services. The larger the Motorverse ecosystem becomes the more $REVV will be used, and the more utility will be created for the token. While we start small with a few games, we expect this dynamic to become a major driver of use cases for $REVV holders in the long-term.
3. **Participate in Motorverse governance:** $REVV will be used as a governance token that bestows the holder with voting power for matters that relate to the wider Motorverse ecosystem. With a plan to progressively decentralise, holders of $REVV will increase their governance input over time.

The Motorverse will use the treasury to: 

1. **Incentivize ecosystem participants:** $REVV will be distributed to various ecosystem participants in return for their participation and services to the Motorverse. We will use $REVV to reward people who have contributed value to the ecosystem (subject to vesting).
2. **Fund new experiences that use $REVV:** $REVV will be used as a means for the Motorverse to invest in new games and experiences that contribute to the wider ecosystem and use $REVV as a means of exchange. Allocations will be subject to milestone and time based vesting.

In a move away from outdated play-to-earn dynamics, $REVV will no longer be used as the main in-game reward, and instead only be attainable as reward for selected experiences that are designed with a more sustainable tokenomics in mind.

Given its decentralised, and permissionless nature, we expect a multitude of additional utility to emerge over time
